20.11.2009 - The art of forging in the GEDORE Group – KRUMM KG celebrates 145th anniversary
One of the oldest companies in the GEDORE Group is Krumm KG, based in Remscheid. The company was established by Erhard Albert Krumm in 1864. In common with many others at that time, he started out trading in iron, steel and brass wares. It was not until 1898 that a first tool factory, incorporating a drop forge, was built. Spanner production began in 1960, and this was followed ten years later by the commencement of puller manufacture, traded under the BALDUR brand name. In 2007, this was changed to GEDORE.
Forging remains right at the heart of the modern-day Krumm KG, which has been part of the GEDORE Group since 1994. This is where the mechanical and hydraulic pullers, along with an extremely diverse range of pressed and drop-forged parts from 0.05 to 85 kg are produced. Numerous patents are testimony to continuous innovative developments in puller technology. Krumm is classified to TÜV, Lloyd’s Register and Det Norske Veritas standards.
To celebrate its anniversary, Krumm KG has launched an anniversary promotion from its puller range. The focus of the promotion is on the tried and tested GEDORE 1.06/1A-E puller, a two-arm puller with quick-release legs. This is used for fast, safe and reliable pulling of discs, wheels and ball bearings. The powerful drop-forged cross-beam has a scale to simplify equal setting of the legs. Centred pulling, with optimised distribution of force application is extremely important for the safety of the user – especially when high pulling forces are in play. The legs can be reversed, to allow both internal and external pulling in the appropriate spans. Additional legs are available to extend the span range. The puller is supplied with a mechanical spindle.
The promotion set includes a hex socket with ½ inch square drive and a 17 mm spanner. The inconspicuous-looking plastic ratchet also has a ½ inch square drive and is deceptively powerful. It is capable of applying up to 70 Nm torque in bolting applications. The combination of ratchet, puller and socket makes a perfect trio for safe pulling of up to three tonnes.
The anniversary set is available from authorised dealers under article number 1.06/1A-E JS, while stocks last.Downloads Press information in format .pdf (Acrobat) 1.15 MB View PM_GTC_Krumm_145_09_UK.pdf Download PM_GTC_Krumm_145_09_UK.pdf Press information in format .doc (Acrobat) 26.50 KByte View PM_GTC_Krumm_145_09_UK.doc Download PM_GTC_Krumm_145_09_UK.doc
