16.04.2010 - New! GEDORE compression-fittings spanner
The latest radiators are connected by means of straight or elbow, single or double compression fittings. While these enable fast, simple replacement of the radiator, they tend to be fitted in the confined space between the radiator and floor, so there is little room to manoeuvre.
The confined space makes it difficult to work on radiator fittings with conventional tools, such as universal pliers, pipe wrenches or open-ended spanners. If the plumber uses unsuitable tools, the tool can easily slip off the nut and damage the joint. There is also an increased risk of injury.
To counteract these problems, GEDORE has developed a special tool for radiator fittings that makes life much easier for the plumber and also improves working safety.
The GEDORE compression-fittings spanner has been designed for tightening and removing Eurocone radiator fittings with 30 mm cam or hex nuts. The short, flat design of the spanner makes it ideal for straight or elbow, single or double radiator compression fittings. The integral ratchet allows the fittings under the radiator to be tightened in confined spaces.
At the head end, the GEDORE compression-fittings spanner has a ½”adapter for attachment of an extension, which is used as a handle and also provides higher torque. There is also a ½”side adapter, allowing use of the ratchet in front of the radiator.
The GEDORE compression-fittings spanner can also be used to drive a step spanner for tightening the ¾” connecting nipple.
